The Cafesjian Art Trust Museum is looking for a professional with experience in working directly with a museum collection, preferably art, but, open to history and other museum experience with object care and management. The successful candidate will have 3 years’ minimum experience with cataloguing, maintaining museum records, and understanding the care of objects. As this is a small museum style organization, occasionally the job will entail more than just registrarial duties. This person will report to the Executive Director and CEO as needed (two people). They will work alongside three other people working on the collection cataloguing and storing.

The collection itself is undergoing a large inventory in preparation for opening a museum space and will require time entering in objects into the database, writing condition reports, and working with a team to accomplish this project. The position will create and maintain all aspects of registration records (hard and electronic) for all collections including accessioning, deaccessioning, lending, borrowing, inventory, insurance reporting, and condition reporting. They will also help in storing the works in an appropriate manner at the new museum, so knowledge of current museum practices is a must.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Maintains complete and accurate collections database providing for all necessary report functions.
. Supervises and maintains the integrity of the collection database through photography, nomenclature, and consistency including developing and maintaining manuals for data entry.
. Produces and maintains complete, accurate, and always-current collection files located in the archive holding room and main administrative area. Files include annual curatorial registry, artifact data sheets, condition reports including photography, location reports, loan, gift, and all other permanent records.
. Creates forms and reports associated with these operations and procedures.
. Responsible for implementation and completion of major finite curatorial projects within a specific time frame.
May supervise several subordinates including volunteers, interns, and paid staff with approval.
Projects to be prioritized and assigned by Executive Director.
In conjunction with Executive Director, plans ongoing and frequently changing exhibitions.
Performs many miscellaneous duties and obligations as assigned.
